Kelsey's Courage continues to honor and celebrate the life of 15 year old Kelsey Misialek who died June 26, 2012 due to injuries sustained from an accident in Adams, ND on June 21, 2012.

Through her death, Kelsey gave life to others through being an organ donor.

This organization will focus on giving annual scholarships in Kelsey's name to continue to help others achieve the very dream that Kelsey also had to pursue medicine. She wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon one day. This scholarship will go to a student pursuing a medical or nursing degree.

Kelsey Mae Misialek, age 15 of Adams, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

Kelsey Mae Misialek was born September 14, 1996 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Kevin and Michaela (Hietala) Misialek. She attended Adams/Edmore High School and just completed her freshman year. Kelsey was on the Volleyball team, Track team, a member of the band and chorus, member of the FCCLA and SADD. She was the photographer for the yearbook.

She was an avid hunter; both bow and rifle, and had just taught herself how to use a bow. She loved mud running with her ATV. She was a member of the Mountain Lutheran Church in Adams and was just confirmed on May 6, 2012. She was an active member of the Adams Youth Group through the church.

Kelsey is survived by her parents, Kevin and Michaela Misialek and her sisters: BreAnna and Kendra all of Adams, ND; her grandparents: Jack and Paulette Misialek of Park River, ND; and Ken and Lois Hietala of Michigan, ND; aunts and uncles: Kristi and David Seim, Park River, ND and Stanna and Dennis Flom, Argusville, ND. Several cousins: Ashley, Mandi and Amy Seim, Park River, ND; Tanner and Taylin Flom, Argusville, ND. As an organ and tissue donor, Kelsey’s gift of life affected many people.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams. Interment is at the Finnish Lutheran Cemetery, rural Brocket, ND.
